Overview

Project Details

Most non-invasive brain stimulation methods can only reach the surface of the brain. Transcranial focused ultrasound is different: it can target small regions deep inside the brain with millimetre precision, without surgery. This makes it one of the most promising new tools in neuroscience, both for studying how the brain works and for possible future treatments of neurological and psychiatric disorders.

In this project, you'll join a research team studying how ultrasound pulses change brain activity. You'll learn how stimulation targets are planned with neuronavigation, how the effects are measured with EEG, and how sessions with participants are run safely in a real lab. The project is carried out in collaboration with the Neuromodulation Research Group at KU Leuven.
